Last Thursday marked the conclusion of the 71st edition of the Saudi International Building and Construction Exhibition «BuildEx,» which opened on March 30 and ran through April 2, 2015
The event featured more than 120 local and international exhibitors, and the exhibition was of utmost importance as it coincided with a concurrent heavy equipment exhibition held under the patronage of the Governor of the Eastern Province, Engineer Fahd Al-Jubeir, at the company’s center on the Dammam-Al-Khobar Coastal Road.
Spacious exhibition areas
Dhahran Expo —the exhibition’s organizer—has allocated a vast space for exhibitors and visitors, with the exhibition spanning 7,200 square meters (indoor area) and 18,000 square meters (outdoor area), an increase of more than 20% compared to the previous edition. This allowed for the display of a larger number of exhibitors" machinery and equipment, such as heavy equipment, cranes, tower cranes, tractors, bulldozers, lifting and handling equipment, and construction machinery and equipment.
Growth in Exhibition Visitors
This year’s »BuildEx" exhibition stood out in terms of both quantity and quality, thanks to the diversity of its content and the caliber of participating companies representing various specializations that complement the construction and building sectors, especially as the event coincides with the development boom the Kingdom is experiencing across various sectors at both the private and government levels.
The »BuildEx" events attracted a large number of visitors, with attendance reaching approximately 30,000 by the end of the four-day exhibition, and the event was well-received by many interested parties. They interacted with more than 120 local and international exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies and products.
The exhibition showcased the latest innovations in building and construction materials, technologies, and equipment; interior finishing materials; civil and mechanical engineering technologies; as well as concrete, steel, and tank technologies; stone, marble, and ceramics; restrooms, porcelain, and tiles; security and safety systems; and audio systems, in addition to various construction solutions and more. This year’s event featured distinguished international participation from Germany, Italy, China, India, Turkey, Greece, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Egypt.
Business Deals and Investments
The exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for investors and developers to conclude business deals and reach agreements for joint cooperation, with the total value of commercial contracts exceeding 300 million.
The exhibition was visited by numerous officials and executives from leading local and international companies, as well as commercial attachés and prominent local and foreign figures, who were briefed on the key achievements and machinery of the participating companies.
Showcasing Construction Machinery and Equipment
Experts noted that Dhahran Expo succeeded in highlighting the work of participating companies by recognizing the event’s significance and designating the outdoor exhibition area as a key attraction, making it the largest gathering for showcasing construction and building equipment and machinery, such as tower cranes, tractors, bulldozers, lifting and handling equipment, and construction machinery and equipment. Participants noted that representatives from various companies met and expressed a desire to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
