At its recent regular meeting, chaired by Engineer Saleh Al-Habdan, Vice Chair of the Contractors Committee at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, the committee discussed developments related to a study on the economic impact of stalled government projects and the role the Chamber could play in engaging with relevant authorities regarding the study to provide the data, information, and statistics necessary for the study. The meeting also addressed the progress in preparing a comparative study between public construction contracts and FIDIC contracts, during which the importance of committee members sharing their views on these topics was emphasized so that these insights could be utilized in the study. During its meeting, the committee had reviewed the 2014 annual report and preparations for organizing the third edition of the Construction and Projects Forum.
The meeting also discussed communication with government agencies relevant to the sector to address the obstacles facing investors in the sector. Furthermore, the committee reviewed the Ministry of Labor’s decisions related to the sector with the aim of identifying possible solutions.
