Al-Watan Units Factory is considered one of the most distinguished factories to have pioneered a modern approach in the construction industry by producing various concrete walls that meet the highest international quality standards and the required durability—a fundamental objective of Al-Watan Units. The factory specializes in concrete and hollow-core walls, and this innovation is considered one of Saudi Arabia’s most significant achievements in the global construction industry; it is registered in more than 140 countries.
About the Product
The factory is distinguished by its diverse product range, which suits various types of construction, such as:
Precast reinforced concrete load-bearing walls in uniform sizes with an internal cavity, These walls are complemented by hollow, reinforced concrete units in various shapes and sizes depending on requirements, including lock, corner, double-corner, and quadruple-corner types, which serve to stabilize the structure firmly and durably, enabling it to withstand the greatest compressive stress. The internal design plays a major role in the manufacturing process of concrete walls, as the wall can incorporate openings for windows and doors of various sizes.
Strength Confirmed by Experiments and Tests
Tests conducted on Al-Watan concrete walls have confirmed their strength, rigidity, and ability to withstand harsh conditions and the pressure resulting from multiple stories above the walls. A building constructed with concrete walls can bear more than 210 metric tons, while a single wall can bear 31 metric tons of concrete and cement, with a total load on the wall of 630 metric tons, The weight of five stories on a single floor is 38 metric tons, and the load capacity of the wall for five stories is 696 metric tons—this confirms the strength and durability of the product.
The company also enlisted the help of specialized laboratories with qualified staff to conduct thermal insulation tests, particularly during the summer.
Learn more about concrete walls
The concrete walls are 3,200 cm high and 1,500 cm wide, with a thickness of 300 cm and an internal cavity of 160 cm. The volume of concrete used to construct them is 0.84 cubic meters, and they weigh 1.9 kilograms.
The internal cavity of the walls allows for airflow and air conditioning and facilitates the installation and routing of various building utilities.
The walls are anchored to the foundation using rebar extending from the foundation; the wall is positioned so that the rebar is inside the cavity, and concrete is then poured into the walls.
The walls are also connected to the ceilings via rebar extending from the top of the walls, in addition to being connected side-by-side with one another.
