The Najran Regional Secretariat has issued «604» new building permits since the beginning of the current year, 1436 AH, bringing the total number of permits issued to more than 901, including renewals, transfers of ownership, replacements for lost permits, additions of floors, construction of annexes, fencing, renovations, and demolitions, all within the city of Najran. The Regional Secretary, Engineer Fares Al-Shafq, noted that the Secretariat has implemented several measures to issue building permits electronically in order to expedite the process, facilitate matters for citizens, ensure quality, and eliminate bureaucratic red tape. In addition, there has been swift follow-up and implementation of procedures, as well as transparency in dealings between engineering offices, citizens, and the municipality.

In the same context, the Deputy Secretary-General for Urban Development, Engineer Ali Al-Atshan, detailed the issued permits as follows: 604 new permits and 40 amendment permits; 81 renewal permits, 77 transfer-of-ownership permits, 488 addition permits, and 48 replacement permits for lost documents, in addition to other permits. The number of permits issued for residential and commercial buildings was 470; «23» permits for industrial and commercial buildings; «4» permits for educational and healthcare facilities and mosques; and «2» additional permits for social and government buildings. Al-Atshan added that the total land area amounted to «1,395,182.04» square meters, and the total building area was «223,587.56» square meters.
