New rules for liquidating troubled real estate contributions

<The Real Estate Contributions Committee at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has started implementing a package of new regulations that were approved to speed up the liquidation of troubled real estate contributions. The committee will start coordinating with the Ministry of Interior to bring some procrastinating contributors in line with the new amendment to paragraph (2) of the committee's working mechanism to become the following text: »If the owner of the real estate contribution does not respond to the committee within (30) days, the chairman of the committee will address the Minister of Interior to include him on the list of prohibited (travel ban) and wanted list
. (If he does not respond after two months, the Chairman of the Committee will address His Highness the Minister of Interior to include him in the arrest list and bring him to the Committee in accordance with the procedures followed, and if he does not respond after bringing him, his suspension will be considered in accordance with the regulations and instructions.
It was also approved to amend paragraph (5) to read as follows: «The Committee shall take all legitimate and legal measures, including those that contribute to preserving the rights of shareholders and restoring them in the most appropriate way, whether by selling the contribution directly according to its current value, selling it through public auction, waiting for the approval of the contribution plan, or continuing to carry out development work according to the case of each contribution.»
The approval was also issued to amend paragraph (6) to read as follows: "Refer anyone who is found to be fraudulent or misusing shareholders' funds to the Investigation and Public Prosecution Authority for investigation."
