His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, signed a decision to allocate a plot of land measuring 299,735 square meters, in the Governorate of Khamis Mushait in the Asir Region to the Ministry of Housing for the construction of housing units for citizens.
The decree included instructions for the Asir Region Secretariat to complete the regulatory procedures and contact the Notary Public to clear the land allocated for the construction of a housing project, specifically the plot located in Khamis Mushait Governorate, and to register it as state property in the name of the Ministry of Housing, which is required to conduct soil surveys before applying for a permit and commencing construction, as well as conducting hydrological and engineering studies to preserve the watercourses of wadis and flash floods passing near the site, thereby ensuring the protection of the facilities in coordination with the relevant authorities, provided that the deed specifies that the land is subject to the future preparation of a detailed master plan and that government service lands (religious, educational, security, etc. etc.), investment sites, and public lands—such as streets, parks, and pedestrian walkways—will be transferred to the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs before residential plots are transferred to citizens.
Hamad bin Saad Al-Omar, Head of the Public Relations and Media Department and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, said, that the decision to allocate the land necessary for the residential project in Khamis Mushait Governorate in the Asir Region is an extension of the Ministry’s efforts to provide all government agencies with the land they need to establish development and service projects in the fields of housing, health, education, security, and other sectors, thereby enhancing these agencies’ ability to carry out their duties in accordance with national development plans and programs, He emphasized that the Ministry is committed to playing a complementary role alongside the efforts of relevant government agencies—including the Ministry of Housing—to provide them with all the land they need to ensure housing for citizens.
