<Dr. Osama bin Fadl Al-Bar, the Mayor of the Holy Capital and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Balad Al-Amin Company, announced that the Municipality has started researching and studying all arrangements in preparation to start receiving requests to deliver electricity to residences whose owners do not have legal deeds, indicating that delivering services to these residences is not considered proof of ownership, as stated in the circular of the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs addressed to the Municipality. He said during a meeting organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Makkah yesterday, at the Sheikh Saleh Kamel Hall, with the president and members of the board of directors of the chamber, businessmen, and executives of the Holy Capital Municipality and its subsidiaries: «Delivering electricity to these houses will not prevent them from benefiting from the housing subsidy program.» He pointed out that the process of delivering electricity will be in accordance with the conditions and controls set by the recently issued Council of Ministers decision. He disclosed that the seven-member committee for the development of informal settlements in the Holy Capital will soon finalize the appropriate financial estimates for the houses to be demolished in the Jabal Al-Sharashif project, indicating that they will be announced soon as soon as the committee finalizes this matter. Al-Bar said during his response to one of the interventions from the audience at the Makkah Chamber, regarding the timing of the development of informal sites in the holy capital, especially since about 65 informal sites have been identified: «Certainly, scheduling the timing of the tasks of developing informal sites is important, and we have identified the Jabal Al-Sharashif project, Jarhum is also doing this, and other projects will be timed to clarify when they will be started.»
