A survey by the Foreign Real Estate Investors Association revealed that the British capital, London, tops the list of cities offering real estate investment opportunities, surpassing New York, which held that position last year.
The survey showed that San Francisco ranked third among foreign investors, followed by Houston and then Los Angeles in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
The United States remains the “most stable and secure” country for investment, with a significant lead of more than 50 percentage points over Germany, which ranked second—the widest margin since 2006.
The United States also remained the country offering the best opportunities for capital appreciation. The United States also tops the list in terms of planned real estate holdings for 2014, with nearly 50 percent of those surveyed expecting a modest increase in the size of their U.S. portfolio and 20 percent expecting a “significant” increase.
