As part of Ejar’s commitment to safeguarding the contractual relationship between landlords and tenants and establishing clear guidelines that provide reassurance to both parties, the platform has issued an important clarification regarding contract renewal fees.
The Ejar Platform announced that a delay in the payment of contract renewal fees by the landlord does not affect the continuity of the contract or the tenant’s rights, noting that the contract is automatically renewed on its specified date even if the landlord fails to pay the fees, This mechanism is implemented as part of efforts to improve the user experience and ensure the continuity of electronically documented contracts.
The Ejar platform noted that the purpose of this clarification is to ensure the stability of the contractual relationship and protect the parties involved, as the fees due are recorded as a debt owed by the landlord to be collected later without affecting the tenant or depriving them of their right to housing.
All housing-related authorities are working toward achieving the objectives of the Housing Program and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aim to regulate the real estate rental market and strengthen trust among its parties.
