The Al-Ahsa Municipality announced that it has allocated eight sites with a total area of 150 million square meters to the Ministry of Housing, During a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Housing for Land Affairs, Eng. Abdulnasser Asiri, the Secretary-General of Al-Ahsa, Eng. Adel bin Muhammad Al-Melhem, confirmed the Secretariat’s readiness to provide 250 million square meters should the need arise to increase the total area, in the service of national development and the citizens, and in line with the aspirations and commitment of our wise leadership to advance the development of housing services for citizens and accelerate their access to housing.
Al-Melhem noted that among these sites are (the proposed Al-Asfar City site, covering an area of 55 million square meters), and a site east of Al-Waha, which stems from the Secretariat’s strategies aimed at shifting urban development toward the eastern axis in the direction of the Al-Aqeer coast, where a number of regional projects are located, such as hospitals and urban centers, as well as a site designated for Saudi Aramco housing located at the beginning of theSharq Al-Waha, adjacent to the Ministry of Transportation’s Eastern Ring Road, as well as two sites covering 73.5 million square meters comprising (New Sharq Al-Ayoun City – a proposed city in Sharq Al-Waha).
