The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the establishment of the Building materials nonprofit, which aims to support efforts to develop Building Materials Sector On the sidelines of the International Forum for the Non-Profit Sector in Riyadh, as part of the ministry's efforts to empower non-profit organizations in the industrial and mining sectors, believing in their role in supporting economic and social development in the Kingdom.
The association aims to contribute to the development of technical specifications for the industrial production processes of building materials in line with international best practices, support local factories in their journey to obtain international quality and accreditation certificates, including (ISO, CE, SASO), enhance communication between building materials manufacturers and decision makers to address challenges that may face factories, stimulate innovation, transfer the latest technologies from leading industrial countries, and encourage research and development by building partnerships with universities and research centers.
The association also aims to explore new markets for exporting the products of building materials factories, support the development of local content, support small and medium-sized factories to support their expansion and growth and raise their competitiveness, develop human cadres in the field of factory management, quality and production through advanced training programs, and raise awareness of energy efficiency, resource management and reducing emissions in factories to support the building of a sustainable industrial environment.
The establishment of the non-profit Building Materials Manufacturers Association is part of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources' efforts to empower the non-profit sector, enhance its role in the fields of industry and mining, and increase its contributions and direct impact on the gross domestic product of the national economy in accordance with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
