The Saudi Board of Engineers has stressed the importance of establishing the «Safety Engineering» division, which was recently approved by the Board.This was explained by Dr. Jamil bin Jarallah Al-Baqaawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, adding that this division, which specializes in the field of occupational safety and health, comes to achieve the upgrading of the competence and skills of workers in this field to enable them to identify risks and accidents and their causes and methods of prevention, analysis and measurement of safety, occupational health and management in a way that achieves quality work and increased productivity, and works to protect the human element from the effects of risks in the field of security and safety.

He explained that this division is important because the Arab and international community has begun in recent years to understand the values and concepts of occupational safety, given the urgent need to keep pace with the global renaissance in the field of security and safety engineering legislation, focus on educating the human element, and create entities that advocate and promote the culture of occupational safety and security.
