His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail issued a decision to form a committee to supervise the elections for the members of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Council of Engineers, in preparation for the start of the electoral process for the membership of the Board of Directors in its ninth session (1447H-1450H).
The committee includes Engineer Mazen bin Ibrahim Al-Fawaz (representative of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing) as chairman, Counselor Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Zahrani (representative of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing) as a member, and Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Qahtani (representative of the Saudi Institution of Engineers) as a member.
The committee will develop the organizational procedures and timetable for the implementation of the electoral process in accordance with the executive regulations of the Saudi Board of Engineers, form sub-committees and define their tasks, follow up the progress of the electoral process and prepare minutes, until the final results are announced and submitted to the Minister for approval.
The elections will be based on the electoral process and will be held on the basis of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing. <The elections are based on the sixth article of the <a href="https://amlak.net. which stipulates that the Board of Directors of the Authority consists of ten members, half of whom are elected from the General Assembly and represent the core members, while the other half are appointed from representatives of government agencies with experience and specialization by order of the President of the Council of Ministers upon the nomination of the head of the supervisory body, and the article stipulates that the head of the supervisory body chooses the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Supervisory Body. The term of membership shall be three years, renewable once, and the Board shall hold its meetings periodically and as needed, and its decisions shall be issued by a majority, with the president's side prevailing in case of equality of votes, while the Secretary-General attends the Board's meetings without the right to vote.
This decision comes in support of empowering national competencies of engineers, enhancing their role in leading and developing the engineering sector, and achieving the national development goals and the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
