The members of the National Committee for the Saudi Building Code unanimously elected Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi, Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, as Chairman of the Committee. Engineer Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Abdulkarim, Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, was also selected as Vice Chairman of the committee.

This came during the first meeting of the National Committee for the Saudi Building Code following the issuance of Cabinet Decision No. (459) dated 02 /11/1436 AH, approving the transfer of the headquarters of the National Committee for the Saudi Building Code to the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), which is affiliated with the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SASO. The meeting was attended by representatives of the committee’s member entities

For his part, Dr. Saad Al-Qasabi expressed his pride in the trust placed in him by the committee members, affirming that the committee will work diligently to support the development process and strengthen integration and cooperation among the relevant authorities, The Chairman of the National Committee for the Saudi Building Code also emphasized that the Saudi Building Code plays a strategically important role in the urban renaissance the Kingdom is witnessing, and in supporting the Kingdom’s economic and development process through construction projects and industries related to this vital sector.Al-Qasabi stressed the importance of fostering integration among all parties involved in the development and implementation of the code, with the aim of establishing an effective system for applying the code in practice.
