Saudi Aramco has allocated a budget of 468 billion riyals (125 billion U.S. dollars) to procure its manufacturing needs through national contractors over the next five years, This includes both domestic projects and international joint ventures, with more than 150 billion riyals (US$40 billion) earmarked for materials.
Aramco has presented its opportunities to numerous companies and, through meetings held throughout the Kingdom, has prequalified contractors to meet Aramco’s annual needs for pipes, steel structures, and chemicals for manufacturing and drilling fluids, as well as equipment, drilling equipment, and mechanical equipment such as pumps and power transmission equipment, along with materials in the fields of health and the environment, measuring devices, electrical equipment, information technology, construction, and general supplies—including building materials, residential neighborhood furnishings, office supplies, andindustrial supplies and air conditioning.
Aramco stated that it does not consider the size of the company—whether small or large—but rather the importance of successful collaboration between the two parties, and offers contractors and suppliers the opportunity to earn a place among its business partners provided they adhere to standards, quality, services, and innovative products, while also ensuring competitive pricing and the ability to meet requirements on time.
