His Royal Highness Prince Mishari bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Region, issued a decree establishing a committee to raise awareness among young people about employment opportunities and subsidized investment opportunities, under the auspices of the Al-Baha Regional Council.
The decree included a number of provisions, such as establishing effective partnerships with business leaders in the region, coordinating efforts among committees and funds and promoting them to make them more accessible through forums and workshops to be held by the committee in accordance with a communication plan targeting the beneficiaries, as well as showcasing success stories of young people who have benefited from the opportunities provided to them, and highlighting these successes so that they may serve as role models and inspiration for those with a genuine desire to enter the world of investment.
Dr. Hamid Al-Shammari, Deputy Governor of Al-Baha Region, explained that His Highness’s decision stems from his commitment to empowering youth and the need to raise their awareness of genuine employment opportunities and how to capitalize on them, given the well-known dedication, seriousness, and patriotism of Saudi youth, noting that the committee aims to support young people seeking employment or launching their own projects, as they are the backbone of the nation—upon whom nations and peoples rely—in addition to their significant role in contributing to the national development process.
Dr. Al-Shammari stated this during his opening remarks at the forum of the Committee for Raising Youth Awareness of Employment and Investment Opportunities supported by the region and all its provinces, held today at the Prince Faisal Educational Hall in Al-Baha, in the presence of the region’s Director General of Education, Committee Chairman Saeed Makhaish, and committee members from relevant government departments and the business community, that the decision also aims to establish continuous and highly effective communication between the supporting funds and young people—including school and university students entering the job market and those seeking opportunities—as well as to promote a culture of entrepreneurship and investment.
Al-Shammari noted that His Highness the Regional Governor directed that periodic reports be submitted and presented at Regional Council meetings, and to organize informational sessions to gather proposals and recommendations for creating a database that enables young people to identify and benefit from investment opportunities and to monitor the implementation of these recommendations.
For his part, Mukhaish explained that this committee, which he chairs, has held several meetings and worked to coordinate with agencies concerned with youth affairs to support them through a working mechanism that, God willing, will be utilized to fulfill the aspirations and vision of His Highness the Emir of the region in this regard, He expressed his gratitude to His Highness, the Deputy Governor of the Emirate, and all committee members for their efforts aimed at serving the region’s youth.
