The Jeddah Provincial Secretariat has launched a large-scale campaign to improve the urban landscape and address visual disturbances along Prince Mohammed bin Salman Avenue, in a strategic move aimed at raising the quality of the urban environment and enhancing quality-of-life indicators in the province, in line with sustainable urban development goals.

In its current phases, the project focuses on the “Al-Jawhara” neighborhood and areas adjacent to the axis, where field teams have begun implementing a comprehensive regulatory plan that includes removing encroachments on public facilities and addressing the status of unregulated activities. The Secretariat clarified that the measures include shutting down workshops and buildings that do not hold valid operating licenses, while granting licensed activities a grace period to bring their operations into compliance in preparation for relocation in accordance with the approved land use designations for the site.

The development work included notifying warehouse owners of the need to improve facades and fences in accordance with the new urban identity, in preparation for relocating their activities to designated industrial zones. Regarding the automotive sector, the Secretariat noted that showrooms will remain at their current locations for a transitional period until the completion of the “Automotive City” project in the southern part of the governorate, which spans an area of 5.5 million square meters.

The Secretariat reaffirmed its strict commitment to enforcing municipal regulations, removing all illegal structures and shacks, and the removal of damaged vehicles, urging beneficiaries to contact the designated channels or field support centers to ensure a smooth transition toward a modern urban landscape befitting Jeddah’s status.
