The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the regional secretariats, carried out more than 1.6 million control rounds during the first quarter of 2026, as part of its continuous efforts to enhance compliance, raise the quality of municipal services, improve the urban landscape, and protect public health in various cities and governorates of the Kingdom.<The Ministry explained that the control tours included a number of field and organizational tracks, including control of (public health, markets, visual deformation, buildings, and Mass housing, excavations, encroachments on land, commercial activities, and classification of contractors), reflecting the comprehensiveness and integration of regulatory roles in supporting the quality of life and raising the efficiency of cities.<The month of March recorded the highest number of supervisory tours during the first quarter with 596 thousand tours, compared to more than 562 thousand tours in February and more than 526 thousand tours in January, which confirms the escalation of the pace of field work and raising supervisory readiness on an ongoing basis.<She pointed out that the distribution of control tours to the secretariats showed extensive field efforts in various regions of the Kingdom, stressing that these efforts come as an extension of a modern control methodology based on smart control, raising compliance before punishment, and integrating field work with operational data and indicators, which contributes to quickly addressing observations, improving the experience of beneficiaries, enhancing the efficiency of municipal and housing services, and raising the level of satisfaction of residents and visitors.
