The Riyadh Region Infrastructure Projects Center released its periodic report on the performance of service providers for May 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of infrastructure projects, increase transparency and compliance with stakeholders, and improve the quality of project work in the region.
The number of infrastructure project permits issued during the month of May exceeded 17,000, including 8,253 active permits currently under implementation, bringing the total number of permits issued since the beginning of 2026 to 82,718, as part of regulatory efforts aimed at raising the level of compliance with approved requirements and standards.

The total length of roads under construction reached 751 kilometers, reflecting the scale of ongoing development work on road networks, services, and infrastructure.

During the month of May, the center received more than 11,000 reports, with reports of road subsidence accounting for 39%, while reports of standing water accounted for 31%, reports of exposed manhole covers accounted for 7%, and other reports for 23%, bringing the total number of reports since the beginning of 2026 to more than 129,000.
Field teams also noted a number of issues at project sites, most notably unclean work sites, failure to comply with work site signage, and the storage of materials, equipment, or tools outside the authorized work area (stockpiling), which requires strengthening compliance to improve the quality of implementation and maintain site safety.

The Center emphasized that periodic reports serve as an important tool for promoting transparency, enhancing the efficiency of monitoring, and providing operational indicators that support decision-making, thereby improving the quality of infrastructure projects and enhancing the quality of life in the Riyadh region.
