«Riyadh Holding,» the investment and executive arm of the Riyadh Municipality, has begun expansion and development work on the Ibn Qasim Center, in a project aimed at increasing the center’s capacity, boosting its commercial activity, and upgrading its facilities, covering an area of more than 153,000 square meters. The expansion is an extension of the existing center, which covers an area of approximately 283,000 square meters, and is part of efforts to develop commercial and urban destinations in the capital and enhance their efficiency to meet the needs of visitors and merchants.
95,000 square meters of new retail space
The project includes the addition of more than 95,000 square meters of retail space, along with the allocation of 31,000 square meters for open-air markets, as well as the development of 70,000 square meters of parks and pedestrian walkways.
The development also includes the creation of 50 galleries dedicated to collectibles and heritage artifacts, thereby expanding the range of activities within the center and adding new uses alongside existing commercial activity.
The project focuses on reorganizing the center’s components and enhancing their efficiency, while providing diverse retail options and developing public spaces and pedestrian walkways, thereby enhancing the experience for visitors and merchants and increasing the center’s appeal and long-term viability.

Developing a Center Tied to Riyadh’s History
The Ibn Qasim Center is one of the commercial destinations linked to the history of the city of Riyadh and its commercial activity. The project aims to preserve its identity and heritage while adding new elements that meet current and future needs.
The development comes amid the capital’s urban growth, reinforcing the center’s role as an integrated commercial destination that combines commercial activities, public spaces, and heritage-related elements.
The project is part of Riyadh Holding’s role in developing and managing urban assets and destinations, enhancing their efficiency, and maximizing their economic and urban value—thereby supporting the creation of integrated and sustainable destinations that keep pace with the rapid development taking place in the city of Riyadh.
