the General Real Estate Authority the start of the physical registration of real estate for a plot of land in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, beginning on Sunday, September 13, 2026, corresponding to 2 Rabi" al-Thani 1448 AH, through the end of Thursday, December 17, 2026, corresponding to 8 Rajab 1448 AH.
The Authority clarified that the neighborhood benefiting from the Real Estate Registry at this stage in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region is: (part of the Riyadh Al-Zakhir neighborhood), noting that the neighborhood was selected based on specific criteria, and that the remaining regions, provinces, and neighborhoods to be subject to real estate registration in various parts of the Kingdom will be announced in due course.
The Real Estate Authority noted that the initial registration of properties in these areas and neighborhoods will be available through the electronic Land Registry platform https://rer.sa/ or through service centers, noting that on-site registration requires a title deed that meets the regulatory requirements to complete the registration process.
The Authority called on property owners in the regions and neighborhoods subject to in-person registration to verify their property title deeds and ensure they meet the necessary requirements in preparation for the start of registration, adding that failure to register properties within the period specified in the announcement exposes owners tofinancial penalties stipulated in the Real Estate Registration System, which are determined by a committee specialized in reviewing violations. Starting from the specified date for the commencement of registration, a "property number“ and a title deed will be issued for each registered real estate unit, The title deed will include the property’s details, descriptions, and condition, as well as the associated rights and obligations linked to precise geospatial information, thereby contributing to the strengthening of infrastructure and the sustainability of the real estate sector, as the real estate registration system aims to increase the reliability of real estate transactions and enhance transparency in the real estate sector.
Land Registry Procedures for a Property in the Makkah Region to Begin Next Sunday
The first registration covers part of the Riyadh Al-Zakher neighborhood through the online platform or service centers, with a valid registration document required and fines imposed on violators.
