In conjunction with the Riyadh Shopping Festival and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar, Governor of the Riyadh Region, Al-Othaim Tourism and Entertainment Company is launching the first and largest snow park (Snow City) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Al-Othaim Mall Al-Rabwah in Riyadh, on Wednesday, July 13. The city features the latest advanced international specifications and the highest safety and security standards to provide a realistic and safe snowy environment, allowing visitors to experience snow for the first time in the Kingdom and enjoy the best of times in a fun, cool European atmosphere year-round at temperatures below 3 degrees Celsius below zero.
On this occasion, Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Othaim, the company’s CEO, emphasized that the launch of this major tourism project aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and the directives of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, “may God protect him,” aimed at promoting and developing domestic tourism and transforming it into an industry with significant economic and social benefits that contributes to diversifying sources of income, drive the national economy, and create more jobs for the nation’s sons and daughters. He emphasized the importance of this modern and innovative project in diversifying attractive recreational services and activities in the capital, Riyadh.
Fahad Al-Othaim revealed that spaces have been allocated for events and parties, as well as a plaza featuring a selection of the most luxurious and renowned restaurants to cater to all tastes; which will help attract the desired number of tourists to these commercial complexes—considered among the Kingdom’s most important tourist and entertainment destinations for Saudi and Gulf tourists. Al-Othaim added that Snow City at Al-Othaim Mall Al-Rabwah in Riyadh is considered a qualitative leap and a major breakthrough in the world of entertainment and tourism in the Kingdom, with wonderful innovations and elegant designs for the snow huts, which feature enchanting views and bright colors that form a magnificent work of artthat adds to the comfort and enjoyment of visitors.
It is worth noting that Snow City is the first and largest integrated snow city in the Kingdom, covering an area of 5,000 square meters, at a total cost of 100 million riyals, with a maximum capacity of 350 people per hour. It features a wide variety of exciting recreational activities, including 12 fun options such as snow sledding, ladder and rope courses, snowmobiles, and slopes of varying lengths that allow skiers to choose according to their preferences and abilities, as well as many exciting and fun games.
