Deadline for Jeddah's historic hotels to legalize their status under the new tourism law

The existing hotels within the historic area of Jeddah are of great importance in the hotel and tourism sector, and based on the close cooperation between the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage and Jeddah Municipality, these hotels have been given a final deadline of three months, starting from Ramadan 1, 1437 H, to harmonize their conditions and end on the first of Dhu al-Hijjah of the same year, in accordance with the requirements and classification of the Authority and the new tourism system, so that the owners are obliged during the indicated period to review the branch of the Authority in Jeddah, Jeddah Historical Municipality and Civil Defense, in order to complete the standard form in preparation for the new classification of each establishment in historic Jeddah.

<For his part, the Director General of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage in Makkah, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Omari, urged all operators of the accommodation sector in Historic Jeddah to comply and start immediately to meet the requirements for obtaining an operating license, according to the approved classification standards that enhance the level of services and contribute to the development of investment in the tourism sector, within the strategy of the General Authority for National Development, stressing that the Authority always seeks, under the guidance and follow-up of His Royal Highness the President of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage.
