Qatar Airways Wins 3 International Awards

Qatar Airways won three prestigious awards at the 2013 Skytrax World Airline Awards ceremony, held yesterday during the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, France.
The carrier won the awards for “World’s Best Business Class,” ”World’s Best Business Class Lounge,” and “Best Cabin Crew in the Middle East” for the second consecutive year.
The World Airline Awards serve as a benchmark for airline excellence, with Skytrax being the only independent organization dedicated to evaluating airline service quality. Passengers from more than 160 countries around the world participate in the organization’s annual survey to evaluate airline services, and winners are determined based on their votes.
Mr. Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, stated, “These awards are extremely valuable as they are based on passengers” votes and their experiences with airlines. More importantly, these awards reflect our performance across all touchpoints with our customers, both on the ground and in the air.“
The airline won the title of ”World’s Best Business Class“ for the first time in 2010, followed by the title of ”World’s Best Airline“ for 2011 and 2012.
Qatar Airways” Premium Terminal, dedicated to its First and Business Class passengers, has continued to excel year after year since its opening in 2006. With its distinctive facilities, the terminal is the only one in the world built specifically for first-class and business-class passengers.
After receiving the Skytrax awards in Paris, Al-Bakr praised Qatar Airways’ employees, saying “I am very proud of our employees; they are the main reason behind our winning these awards, thanks to their dedication to their work and their commitment to providing an unparalleled travel experience for our customers.”
