The National Center for Statistics in Oman revealed that the country received more than one million tourists last year, compared to 815,000 in 2015, It is expected that the number of tourists and visitors to the country will continue to increase, especially as Oman welcomes the holiday seasons by launching many recreational and exploratory tourism programs and activities within the picturesque winter atmosphere that distinguishes the Sultanate from others, including the Oman Sailing Project on the beaches of Al Khairan, Al Mouj Marina in Muscat, Al Masnaa on the coast of Al Batinah, and Bakha in Sur, in addition to water activities, skiing shows, kite flying, and others.

On the same subject, Salem bin Uday Al Mamari, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Omani Ministry of Tourism, stressed that the Sultanate of Oman enjoys natural ingredients and unique features that made it the most distinctive winter tourist destination during this period, especially for Gulf tourists who continue to flock to the country to enjoy the dazzling winter atmosphere in light of the interesting activities and programs available.

He said that we are keen every year in the holiday season to offer different programs and activities than last year so that the tourist or visitor has renewed and interesting experiences, pointing out that Omani nature continues to enchant the world, especially enjoying the seas and beaches, sailing on dhow boats, which attracts the interest of more tourists, as well as mountain hiking, trekking, camping, and mountain activities in both the Green Mountain and Mount Shams attracts the interest of tourists.

And he said that we are keen every year in the holiday season to offer different programs and activities from the previous year.

About the places and attractions that visitors prefer during the holiday season, Al-Mamari said there are many tourist attractions, most notably the "Bima area", which was formed from a natural cliff of rocks in the middle of which groundwater flowed into it, which gave the place a special charm to its nature, and tourists from all over the world flock to the lake to swim in its pure and clear water with a beautiful turquoise color, in addition to enjoying the eastern sand and desert adventures, in addition to touring Wadi Shab, Wadi Bani Khaled, Wadi Bani Auf and other interesting places.
