Expo 2020 Dubai officials revealed that the Expo’s management plans to award 47 real estate contracts with a total value of 11 billion dirhams ($3 billion) in 2017, as part of ongoing preparations to host the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

“Expo 2020 Dubai” also reported that 98 additional non-real estate contracts, with a total value exceeding 360 million dirhams (98 million U.S. dollars), will be put out to bid before the end of this year as well. These range from providing legal consulting services to event management and the production of promotional merchandise.

The 2017 construction tenders are open to all local, regional, and international organizations and include the third and final phase of infrastructure for the event’s support areas, including parking facilities.

The major contracts to be awarded this year cover the three zones dedicated to the event’s sub-themes, which will host the majority of the event’s pavilions. This includes public areas and the design, development, and delivery of all infrastructure and temporary structures required to launch the event.

The Expo 2020 Dubai online portal for contracts and tenders contains details on opportunities to participate in upcoming tenders, as well as all contracts awarded to date, ranging from small contracts to major opportunities worth billions of dirhams.
