The healthcare sector is one of the most vital sectors in the Kingdom, and the Saudi Ministry of Health is working to develop it,in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to expand the privatization of government services to achieve sustainable economic growth, increase the contribution of non-oil sectors to the economy, and raise the private sector’s share of healthcare spending from 25% to 35%.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Health has launched a project to privatize the sector in six phases over three years, during which it will sign agreements with local and international companies during the operational and privatization phases, which will help expand employment opportunities in the private sector. There are currently 249 government hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health across various regions of the Kingdom, in addition to 39 hospitals affiliated with other government agencies and 127 private-sector hospitals.
In line with the expected growth in this sector, “Saudi Health Expo 2017” brings together regional and international companies, major traders, distributors, and service providers with officials and decision-makers in the Saudi healthcare sector to network and initiate joint ventures.
