«Housing» takes over a number of housing projects, warns late contractors

<The Ministry of Housing announced the receipt of three housing projects in each of the regions of Jazan and Qassim, as part of 56 projects in which work continues in the cities and governorates of the Kingdom, where the construction of housing units in Buraidah in Qassim and the projects of Sabya and Abu Hajar in Jazan, and the ministry is working on preparing to receive the housing projects of Tabuk, Khaybar,
The ministry is preparing to receive the housing projects in Tabuk, Khaybar, Samta, Bish and part of the Khobar governorate. The ministry revealed that it has warned late contractors in each of the projects in the governorates of Zulfi, Abu Arish, Tarif, Hafar al-Batin, Arar, Rafha, Skaka and Qurayyat, whose completion rates varied among them, with some reaching 65 percent, while the ministry stressed on the contractors to finish within the deadline given for completion. The ministry also withdrew the Al-Ula housing project in the Medina region, the Khurma housing project in the Makkah region, and the Nawan housing project in the Al-Baha region, after it found slowdowns and delays by the contractor, and the lack of completion rates that are supposed to be reached. The Ministry of Housing stated that it has detected delays in the implementation of a number of contractors and slow completion rates, for several reasons, including the difficulty in the availability of basic building materials and the nature of the project site, including the contractor's failure to fulfill his contractual duties. The Ministry issued final warnings to the late contractors and gave them a final opportunity to speed up the completion of the projects in accordance with the technical specifications approved for Saudi construction, and set a period after which the procedures for withdrawing the late project in accordance with the government tenders and procurement system begin.
