The 2017 Overview of Hotel Construction in Saudi Arabia report revealed that there are 20 hotel projects under construction in Al-Khobar, placing it third behind Jeddah (44 projects) and Riyadh (48 projects), surpassing Makkah, which has 19 hotel projects under construction.

Al-Khobar emerged as the third-largest hotel development region in Saudi Arabia this year, according to a new report released by Top Hotel Projects and prepared exclusively for the Saudi Hotel Expo; this indicates the growth of the leisure and business tourism market throughout the Kingdom. Hospitality experts in the region attribute this boom in hotel development in Al Khobar, which is part of the Kingdom’s third-largest metropolitan area, to the recognized tourism potential of “secondary” cities outside Saudi Arabia’s main visitor destinations.

The fifth edition of the Saudi Hotel Expo is expected to take place over three days from April 4 to 6, 2017,   in Jeddah, where the exhibition attracts thousands of hospitality professionals each year.
