Last Monday marked the start of the opening ceremony for the 13th edition of the Riyadh Shopping and Entertainment Festival, organized by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the General Entertainment Authority as a strategic partner, The event was attended and graced by Eng. Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Sultan, Secretary of the Riyadh Region, on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region.
Engineer Ibrahim, Governor of the Riyadh Region, expressed his delight at the participation of his colleagues at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, led by the Chamber’s Chairman, Engineer Ahmed Al-Rajhi, and Chamber Board Member and Chairman of the Tourism and Entertainment Committee, Majid Al-Hakeer, as well as the committees formed for the festival, for the excellent preparation and organization of the distinctive opening ceremony, with the participation of numerous shopping centers and 150 festival-related events taking place over the course of a full summer month, all of which are joyful and aimed at bringing happiness to citizens, residents, the people of Riyadh, and its visitors from within and outside the Kingdom, emphasizing that the capital will also serve as a wonderful summer retreat for its residents and those in neighboring regions.
For his part, at the beginning of the ceremony, Majid Al-Hakeer, Chairman of the Tourism Committee at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the festival’s organizing committee, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the Mayor of Riyadh on behalf of His Highness the Prince of Riyadh, who is known for his generous support of the festival and all events in the capital, which has become a tourist destination, thanks to numerous important initiatives held throughout the year. He also welcomed the presence of the Chamber’s Chairman, Engineer Ahmed Al-Rajhi, and officials from the festival’s supporting organizations, most notably the Tourism and Entertainment Authorities.
