“Jabal Omar signs a contract to build a 7-star hotel and residential tower next to the Grand Mosque

Jabal Omar Development Company and Foster + Partners(Foster + Partners) a joint cooperation agreement under which Foster + Partners will provide the architectural design for the Four Seasons Jabal Omar Hotel, the first 7-star hotel and residential tower adjacent to the Holy Mosque in Mecca. The design is inspired by Islamic architecture, representing a quantum leap in architectural design that is in keeping with the sanctity of the site and meets the functional and spatial standards and requirements of the Four Seasons Hotel.

The Four Seasons Group was selected for its more than 55 years of experience and for managing 78 hotels in 32 countries around the world, which are considered among the most luxurious hotels globally.

The agreement was signed by Yasser bin Faisal Al-Sharif, CEO of Jabal Omar Development, and Mr. Luke Fox, Senior Managing Partner at Foster + Partners.

Jabal Omar Development had formed a distinguished jury comprising renowned Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, Turkish architect Emre Arolat, and architecture professor Peter Bishop from the University of London, and Saudi architect Hisham Malaika to evaluate the projects, with the participation of more than 22 international consulting firms from around the world. Foster + Partners won first place for the design of the Four Seasons Jabal Omar Hotel, The firm also designed the Al-Faisaliah Tower and the Samba Tower in Riyadh.
