Emaar Properties has invited specialized construction companies to submit bids for the main construction work on the Al Khour Port Tower. This move reflects the company’s desire to complete the tower before 2020, and Emaar noted that it intends to provide pre-construction services over a six-month period.
In early February 2016, Emaar Properties unveiled the Al Khour Tower project, which rivals the Burj Khalifa in height; the designs were approved, and the cost is estimated at approximately 3.67 billion dirhams. The company has postponed announcing the height of the new tower, hinting that it may exceed that of the Burj Khalifa, which stands at 828 meters.
The tower will be directly connected to the Al Jazira district in the “Dubai Creek” project, which is surrounded by a 4.5-kilometer-long creek promenade featuring retail outlets, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
