There was widespread optimism among construction companies regarding the return of the Saudi Binladin Group to work on projects at the Two Holy Mosques, The group had issued a circular announcing its return to work in the architecture and construction sector of the Two Holy Mosques after this year’s Hajj season, 1438 AH.
In the circular, the group instructed all employees in the Two Holy Mosques sector to resume their work and report to their job sites starting Monday, August 14, 2017, to avoid accountability by official authorities and to avoid penalties under the approved sanctions regulations in the event of recorded absences among employees.
The Human Resources Department promised to disburse a portion of the outstanding salaries owed to all employees of the sector, amounting to a minimum of two to three months’ salary, starting this coming Sunday, August 20, 2017, for each employee, with the remaining overdue salaries to be paid and scheduled upon the resumption of work following the Hajj season.
The company’s announcement was met with great optimism among employees in the sector, who are eagerly awaiting the resumption of work on the project on the specified date, The Two Holy Mosques Projects sector had been suspended at the company for over a year, resulting in the suspension of employee salary payments and the halting of subcontractor payments, which raised many questions about the fate of the project and its workers.
