His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, signed a decree allocating a plot of land measuring (4,115,588) square meters in the Medina region to the Ministry of Housing for the construction of residential buildings for citizens.
The decree instructed the Madinah Region Secretariat to complete the regulatory procedures and contact the Notary Public Office to clear the land allocated for the construction of a residential project on the plot located at the intersection of Prince Salman Road and Al-Qassim Road, east of Madinah, and to register it as state property in the name of the Ministry of Housing, which is required to conduct soil surveys before applying for a permit and commencing construction, as well as conducting hydrological and engineering studies to preserve the wadis and flood channels passing near the site, thereby ensuring the protection of the structures in coordination with the relevant authorities.
This was clarified by Hamad Al-Omar, Head of the Public Relations and Media Department and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, noting that the decision to allocate the land needed for the residential project in Madinah is an extension of the Ministry’s efforts to provide all government agencies with the land required to establish development and service projects in the areas of housing, health, education, security, social welfare, and other sectors, thereby enhancing these agencies’ ability to carry out their duties in accordance with national development plans and programs. He emphasized that the Ministry is committed to playing a complementary role alongside the efforts of relevant government agencies—including the Ministry of Housing—to provide them with all the land they need to supply housing for citizens. For his part, Dr. Khalid Taher, Mayor of Madinah, commended the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, noting that the Madinah Municipality will immediately act on the instructions and begin taking the necessary steps regarding the land allocated for this purpose.
