«Trade» and »Telecom» launch 25 initiatives New Bipan Forum 2017 concludes with incentives and support for SMEs

With the participation of four ministries, the «Bipan Forum 2017» concluded its four-day event at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Riyadh Organized by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, the four-day event was held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Riyadh, which received great interest from the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Labor and Social Affairs, Communications and Information Technology, and a number of government agencies and private sector institutions, and the forum includes 12 sections of interest to small and medium enterprises.

Launching the «Idea» initiative. And 25 other initiatives

The Minister of Trade and Investment and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology launched the «Fikra» digital initiative, which was made in cooperation between Monshaat and the Digital Transformation Unit, which seeks to employ the social mind in developing services and products through a national platform for ideas, while Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi launched 25 other initiatives of Monshaat, namely: E-commerce platform, Fanar platform, Idea Bank platform, Cloud Computing platform, in addition to training and facilitation platforms.

The initiatives included the Enterprise Voice Platform, the economic map, the «MOMKN» initiative, indirect lending, the information center for enterprises, investing in startups, «Saudi Arabia Innovates», »Social Entrepreneurship Challenge», stimulating entrepreneurship platforms, and »Business Noura», in addition to the investment opportunities platform for small and medium-sized enterprises. in addition to the SME Investment Opportunities Platform, Tamouh, Business Platforms Organization, Market Development, Development and Empowerment Association, Entrepreneurship Association, Advisory Services Association, Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, Saudi Support Chains Association, and Franchise Association.

Instant municipal licenses for (168) municipal activities

During the first day, His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Engineer Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, participated in the main session of the forum, which was entitled «The role of the government in enabling the establishment of small enterprises», reviewing the role of the municipal sector in enabling investment in the Kingdom, noting that the Bipan Forum brings everyone together under the common goal of serving the citizen, resident and visitor in order to achieve the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - that the Kingdom be a successful and leading model in the world at all levels, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

<p class="p2 Al-Sheikh explained that coordination is underway with the rest of the relevant authorities, adding that the ministry launched the instant professional licenses service (first phase), where beneficiaries of the municipal licenses service in all regions of the Kingdom can immediately obtain municipal licenses through the Baladi portal for (168) municipal activities automatically without the need to review the secretariats or municipalities, and the comprehensive licenses committee was formed, which includes a number of relevant ministries and bodies.

Al-Sheikh explained that coordination is underway with the other relevant authorities, adding that the ministry launched the instant professional licenses service (the first phase).

Multiple efforts of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs

The Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs indicated that the efforts made by the Ministry in various fields, which contribute to achieving the objectives of the forum, including facilitating procedures and issuing municipal licenses, where the Ministry unified the activities and requirements for professional licenses according to the global ISIC system approved by the General Authority for Statistics and in coordination with the relevant authorities and published them on the "Baladi« portal for all beneficiaries and entrepreneurs, and launched the electronic portal »Baladi« as a unified national portal to serve the public and provide all municipal licensing services.

80 investment opportunities from the Ministry of Agriculture and Water

During its participation in the forum, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture revealed about 80 investment opportunities in the agricultural field. According to the ministry, the opportunities include dates and fisheries, in addition to the sectarian rose, apiaries, organic farming, veterinary clinics and facilities, with support from the Agricultural Development Fund.

99.2% private sector enterprises (small and medium)

During his speech, Dr. Ghassan bin Ahmed Al-Sulaiman, Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, the organizer of the forum, explained that the percentage of enterprises in the Kingdom exceeds 99.2% of private sector establishments, and contribute to the employment of 53 % of the total labor force, and we look forward to the highest percentage to reach 60 %, and Al-Sulaiman indicated that SMEs generate hundreds of thousands of suitable jobs for our young men and women within the framework of Vision 2030, and contribute to GDP on 22%, while it reaches 57 % in the European Union and 65 % in Malaysia.
