The Taif Municipality, represented by the Al-Sail Al-Saghir Sub-Municipality, removed more than 20 unauthorized structures in a recent informal settlement along Al-Sail Al-Aam Road. All of the encroachments consisted of sheds, rooms, and facilities built without proper permits.
The head of the Al-Sail Al-Saghir Sub-Municipality, Engineer Lutfi bin Muhammad Al-Hathli, along with municipal inspectors, oversaw the removal work, which covered an area estimated at more than 30,000 square meters, It was confirmed that the municipality’s machinery and equipment were used to remove all instances of encroachment on government-owned vacant land, in accordance with high-level directives requiring prompt and timely action against encroachments and unauthorized structures without any delay, and to prevent land thieves from continuing with unauthorized construction.
The Taif Municipality confirmed that all vacant government-owned land is being monitored by branch inspectors and municipal service offices, and that there is coordination and joint cooperation with encroachment committees to remove unauthorized structures from the outset. It noted that the Mayor of Taif, Engineer Muhammad bin Hamail Al-Hamail, has emphasized to the affiliated municipalities (10 municipalities) and sub-municipalities (11 sub-municipalities) not to give the unscrupulous an opportunity to make quick profits through illegal means, while strictly enforcing regulations and rules against violators to ensure the eradication of encroachments.
