The value of contracts awarded last September reached approximately $497 million, compared to $425 million in August, placing the region third in the Middle East, while the total value of contracts awarded in the region reached $10.4 billion, a 31% decrease from August’s figure of $15 billion.

Oman, according to the MEED report, in fourth place after Saudi Arabia with a value of $294 million, while Bahrain ranked last, having recorded no contracts last month; meanwhile, the UAE, which was the most active market, ranked second with a value of $653 million.

Noting that Kuwait ranked fifth, with the value of contracts awarded in the Middle East last September reaching $154 million, the UAE topped the list of awards with contracts worth $5.8 billion.

It noted that project awards in the third quarter of this year rose from $23.2 billion in the second quarter to $33.3 billion, an increase of 43.51%.
