With more than 150 exhibitors participating, the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center will host, on January 28, the Saudi International Internet of Things Expo 2018 as part of an initiative to create a platform focused on the immense potential of the Internet of Things revolution, address challenges, and identify the real opportunities inherent in the concept of the Internet of Things.
The Saudi International Internet of Things Exhibition 2018, launched under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, is considered a highly significant event for the future of the Internet of Things in the Kingdom, with a strong focus on innovators of IoT solutions—including electronic design, embedded systems, software development, cloud computing, and analytics.
Organizers of the Saudi International Internet of Things Exhibition, which will be held next January (2018) for the first time in the Kingdom at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, revealed that the Internet of Things market is projected to grow more than fivefold by 2020.
The Internet of Things focuses on connecting all components of the industrial cycle to a digital system, meaning that every component in a machine will be able to send data every second or fraction of a second via the cloud, or a data center, where it will be analyzed and compared with data from other similar machines, and the results of that analysis will then be sent back to the devices.
Economic experts in digital investments predict that the Internet of Things market will reach more than $600 billion by 2020, attributing this to a twofold increase in the number of smartphones, computers, and tablets, which are expected to double.
