The Ministry of Housing continued its plans to implement the “white land” system, with Housing Minister Majid Al-Hogail issuing a ministerial decree imposing fees on undeveloped land measuring 10,000 square meters or more located within the designated geographical area of the city of Makkah.
The decree stipulates that the specified period for paying the fee or completing the development or construction of the land shall be calculated starting from March 23, 1439 AH.
The decisions noted that executive decisions will be issued regarding the lands covered by this decision, clarifying their details and the amount of the fee imposed on them, provided that this decision is communicated to the landowners, and to all parties required to implement it, and it shall take effect as of March 23, 1439 AH.
It should be noted that there are 98 unregistered plots of land in Makkah, covering an area of more than 15 million square meters, which were registered before the end of the period set by the Ministry, which concluded last July.
