Dubai plans to build the world's largest shopping mall

<His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched yesterday the “Mall of the World” project, the largest shopping center of its kind in the world, which will be a fully air-conditioned city built on more than 48 million square feet on Sheikh Zayed Road in the Al Sufouh area of Dubai, where it connects to the World Mall, which includes 8 million square feet of expandable shopping space for the largest indoor playground in the world covered by a single dome that can be opened during the winter, areas for theaters and cultural events, medical tourism areas, and more than 20 thousand hotel rooms. The mall is equipped to receive 180 million visitors annually.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said during the launch of the new project: “The rapid growth rates in the retail and family tourism sectors make it imperative that we prepare early for the future.” “We announced a while ago that we want to be the economic, tourism and cultural capital for two billion people living around us, and we are serious about implementing our vision,” His Highness added.
