Booking procedures for 4300 residential units in the Medina project start next month

The Minister of Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Haqil, a number of the Ministry’s projects in the Madinah region, during which he met with the authorities overseeing the implementation of those projects and the workers involved. This is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to monitor its projects and provide more housing units in various regions of the Kingdom.

4,300 housing units

During the tour, the minister inspected the Madinah project, which had been previously allocated and provides approximately 4,300 housing units; infrastructure work is being integrated into the project, while reservations for units «under construction» will begin next April. He confirmed that there are six other projects in the governorates of Al-Ula, Khaybar, Al-Hanakiyah, Yanbu Al-Nakhl, Yanbu Al-Bahr, and Badr, which will provide 3,177 housing units.

Developed Lands

Al-Hagail also inspected the Ministry’s developed land plots that will be provided to beneficiaries free of charge. Work is currently underway to complete infrastructure projects at these sites, which cover a total area exceeding 10 million square meters, with the aim of beginning the process of handing over 10,873 free developed plots, distributed as follows: 3,594 plots along the King Abdulaziz Road project, 2,526 plots along the Hail Road, and 1 (Al-Aqool) project with a total of 1,453 developed plots, and 1,906 developed plots in the Abyar Al-Mashi Suburb project, in addition to 964 free plots in Yanbu Governorate and 430 in Al-Mahd.

The «Sakani» Program

His Excellency the Minister of Housing explained that the first phase of the «Sakani» program for 2017 will allocate approximately 20,590 housing and financing products in the Madinah region, across its various governorates and districts, noting that the program aims, in its second phase during 2018, to allocate 21,792 housing and financing units, thereby meeting the needs of up to 58% citizens eligible for housing support in the region.

Villa Projects

It should be noted that the Madinah region includes two ready-built villa projects, one of which is in the Khaybar Governorate, comprising a total of 149 villa-type housing units that have already been delivered to eligible recipients, while work is underway to complete the Al-Ula housing project, which will provide 201 villas. The projects implemented by the Ministry are characterized by comprehensive infrastructure, including water, electricity, telecommunications, street lighting, sidewalks, and more, and designated sites for public service facilities, in addition to green spaces and parks. All residential units are also characterized by their affordable prices, which fall within the price range set by the Ministry, ranging from 250,000 to 700,000 riyals.
