18 members per committee Makkah Chamber approves 25 committees and opens registration for them electronically

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Makkah will launch today, Sunday, the electronic registration portal for sectoral committees, which will last for 14 days, to enable all those wishing to run for membership of the committees, after the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Makkah approved the adoption of 25 sectoral committees emanating from the Board.

25 committees in the Chamber's programs

<The committees serve commercial and industrial sectors in addition to specific committees that serve sectors concerned with social responsibility, namely: ”Commercial and Industrial Committee, Training and Human Resources Development, Contractors, Investment, Lawyers and Notaries, Tourism and Tourist Guidance, Hotels, Youth and Young Businessmen (Entrepreneurship), Precious Metals and Precious Stones (Gold and Jewelry), Women's Workshops, Transportation and Transportation, Public Relations, Media and Marketing, Health and Pharmaceuticals, Real Estate, Recruitment, Endowments, Private Education, Engineering Offices, Ready Mixed Concrete, Social Responsibility, Exhibitions, Conferences and Festivals, Applications and Information Technology, Elevators and Safety, Rehabilitation.”

These committees serve commercial and industrial sectors in addition to specific committees that serve sectors concerned with social responsibility.

Reducing the quorum of committees to 18 members

<Hisham bin Mohammed Kaaki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Makkah, confirmed that the Board of Directors discussed the new regulations and the development of sectoral committees, and the Board approved reducing the quorum of the committees to 18 members. Kaaki added that a working group was formed consisting of a number of board members, headed by Engineer Mustafa Rajab, and the membership of Mazen Darrar, Khalid Bin Dibis, Bassam Waaz Al-Din, and Tawfiq Al-Suwaihri, in addition to Secretary General Ibrahim Bardisi and Director of the Committees Department Mohammed Al-Ahmari.

New mechanisms and organizations for the work of committees

For his part, Board of Directors member Engineer Mustafa bin Abdulrahman Rajab confirmed that “new mechanisms and regulations have been put in place regarding the work of the committees, and all arrangements have been completed for the technical transformation and the launch of an electronic portal for the registration process, because the Makkah Chamber and its Board of Directors believe that new blood should be injected and open the door for all affiliates wishing to serve their sector through participation in committees to ensure more ideas and proposals and greater effectiveness in serving these commercial and industrial sectors.“

He added that the Makkah Chamber and its Board of Directors believe in the need to inject new blood and open the door for all members wishing to serve their sector by participating in committees. He added, “The registration portal contains three electronic pages to facilitate the registration process and enables the candidate to register through the portal from wherever he is, and this does not require presence at the Chamber headquarters unless there is an update of the candidate's data and information.”

Registration portal has been transformed into a platform for all affiliates wishing to serve their sectors through participation in committees.

Electronicization of committees

Mohammed Al Ahmari, Director of the Committees Department, said: “The Committees Department has worked in the past period to develop the internal work mechanisms of the Committees Department, and transferred it to a fully technical department, and relies on the electronic portal in accomplishing all its work to keep pace with the Chamber's orientation in the transition to e-government."
