300 specialized entities representing 55 countries light up the Riyadh International Travel Fair and entice Saudi tourists

With the participation of 300 specialized organizations representing 55 countries and a distinguished attendance of business leaders and ambassadors from the participating nations, the 10th edition of the Riyadh International Travel Fair recently concluded at the Prince Sultan Hall at the Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh, organized by Asas Exhibition and Conference Organizing Company.

Prominent regional and international attendance

The opening ceremony was graced by Hamad bin Ali Al-Shuwaier, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, and the fair lasted four days, attracting interest from various segments of society and featuring prominent regional and international attendees.  In this regard, Bandar Al-Quraini, President of Asas, emphasized the exhibition’s effectiveness in attracting visitors, noting the strong competition and diversity among exhibitors from all countries as they sought to present their best services, and the range of products in the evolving travel and tourism industry, alongside modern technologies that have become a source of cultural convergence and a means of discovering travel destinations around the world.

Participating Countries Target Saudi Tourists

The exhibition served as a unique platform for tourism destinations targeting Saudi tourists ahead of the summer vacation in the coming weeks. It also attracted travel industry leaders, official bodies working in the travel, tourism, and aviation sectors, tour operators, and other stakeholders in the field. The 2018 edition is the largest ever in terms of the number of exhibitors and the presence of numerous national pavilions, in addition to a 10% increase in exhibition space compared to last year.

Diversity of Tourism Destination Offerings

The exhibition provided an open atmosphere for professionals and the general public, allowing them to interact directly with various tourism entities and destinations, such as tourism boards, hotels, airlines, and travel agencies from various global destinations. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries had a strong presence at the event, including their sponsored pavilions. The Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority served as the strategic partner, with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority as the Platinum Partner, Indonesia Tourism as the Diamond Partner, Riyadh Travel and Tourism Agency as the Gold Partner, and Czech Tourism as the Silver Partner.

Examples of participating countries

Countries participating in the exhibition include: Egypt, Bahrain, Poland, South Korea, Greece, Jordan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, the Seychelles, Ethiopia, Turkey, the Netherlands, Sweden, the Nordic countries, Spain, Norway, Denmark, and Mauritius. The exhibition featured exhibitors from various travel and tourism service providers, such as hotels, airlines, online booking sites, and car rental companies.
