100 Saudi and foreign companies helped attract investors to the energy and electricity sector, at the 21st International Exhibition for Electricity, Renewable Energy, Water Technology, Lighting, and Air Conditioning, which recently concluded at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. Foreign companies showcased opportunities for cooperation and investment in the Kingdom in the energy sector and its various sub-sectors.

For his part, an exhibitor from the People’s Republic of China “Xin Wan,” noting that this was his first visit to the Kingdom and that, through their participation in the Saudi Electricity Exhibition, they were keen to inform investors about the latest technologies in the field of solar energy—which is one of the Kingdom’s key strategies for energy provision— adding that his company is seeking authorized Saudi distributors to market their products or grant exclusive agency rights to an investor to establish manufacturing facilities for their products in the Kingdom, with the aim of localizing the technology and creating job opportunities for young people, as well as achieving sustainability by replacing the fuel consumed in electricity generation, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions, thereby protecting the environment and removing thousands of trucks from the roads that would otherwise have been transporting fuel to conventional power plants.

“Wan” continued by stating that Chinese products comply with the latest international standards and meet ISO 9001 requirements, and that they undergo rigorous testing to ensure the quality of the final product. He added that investing in solar energy is a worthwhile investment, as these products are new to the Kingdom, given the scarcity of companies offering such capabilities, as well as a lack of expertise in installation and manufacturing. He noted that the Chinese companies participating in the exhibition have outlined a vision for their relationship with Saudi partners, aiming to make their technologies available to consumers through Saudi companies with greater expertise in the nature of the market and its needs, with estimated investments exceeding 500 million riyals in the first phase.
