During the first half of this year, the Commercial Registration and Licensing Sector at the Dubai Department of Economic Development issued 11,418 commercial permits, while the number of promotional campaign permits during this period reached 2,340, accounting for 20.5% of the total commercial permits. These campaigns included instant prize promotions, shopping campaigns, and raffles.
In addition, 3,397 permits were issued for advertising campaigns, representing 29.8% of the total permits, These included brand name advertisements, print and digital ads, indoor roadside advertisements, fabric banners, brand advertisements, and other permits falling under this category.
The Licensing and Commercial Registration Sector at Dubai Economy noted that 39 permits were issued for trade exhibitions during the first half of this year, and 882 permits were issued for sales, special offers, and clearance events, accounting for 7.7% of the total number of permits issued.
These results come amid the efforts made by «Dubai Economy» to facilitate commercial activities and its ongoing efforts to drive economic development and shape policies for economic growth and development in Dubai. Most importantly, streamlining procedures through multiple channels plays an economic role, as it contributes to an increase in the number of permits, which grows monthly and rises significantly during certain seasons. Consequently, it enhances the effectiveness of promotional strategies to achieve companies« goals—namely, increasing market share and sales—and meeting consumer demands.
Data on business permits underscores the flexibility of the procedures followed by »Dubai Economy” in issuing business permits for promotional offers and sales, as well as the increase in the number of locations for processing business permit applications, as permit applications can now be submitted at all outsourcing centers.
