The Secretary of Jeddah Province, Saleh Al-Turki, issued an administrative decision appointing three women to head sub-municipalities in Jeddah Province.
The decree appointed Ms. Heba Al-Balawi as head of the Al-Sharafiyah sub-municipality, Ms. Rasha Al-Mahani as head of the Dhahban sub-municipality, and Ms. Mariam Abu Al-Enein as head of the Women’s Sub-Municipalities “responsible for activities dedicated to women.” They will report directly to the Deputy Secretary for Services, and it was decided to rename the General Directorate of Women’s Services to the Women’s Sub-Municipality.
Mohammed Al-Baqmi, the official spokesperson for the Jeddah Municipality, explained that the decisions issued by the Secretary General aim to enhance and develop the productivity and performance of municipal branches, given that the coming phase requires hard work, reinforcement, and leveraging the competence of outstanding female staff.
These accelerated steps to empower women and make them a contributing force in society are in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 for Sustainable Development, aimed at achieving significant successes and participating in the nation’s renaissance and development.
