The Ministry of Housing has started to surround the lands it received from the secretariats in a number of regions of the Kingdom with cement blocks with the ministry's logo, to protect these lands from encroachment, until the ministry finishes building the approved housing units on them.
<On the other hand, the Municipality of the Holy Capital handed over the last site to the Ministry of Housing, with an area of about 6 million m2, located in the area of Al-Jaarana, east of Makkah, near the new Shari'a Hospital building and the Industrial Institute building, bringing the total areas handed over to the Ministry in the Holy Capital to 55 million, 985 thousand and 411 m2. Representatives from the Municipality, the Ministry of Housing, representatives from the Al-Shara'i Sub-Municipality, the Encroachments Committee, and a number of security patrols supervised the field handover of the site, where it is expected to remove the encroachments that affected the site during the past period. For his part, the Secretary of the Holy Capital, Dr. Osama bin Fadl Al-Bar, said: «The Municipality handed over eight sites to the Ministry of Housing, including a site in Al-Jaarana in eastern Makkah with an area of six million m2, a second site in Al-Bawaba in western Makkah with an area of five million m2, a third site in the village of Al-Ghaziyat in Al-Jumum Governorate north of Makkah with an area of 771 thousand m2, a fourth site located in the Crown Prince (9) plan with an area of four million m2, and a fifth site located in the plan of The sixth site is located in the Al-Samad plan in Al-Jamoum governorate with an area of two million and five hundred thousand square meters, a seventh site in the Abu Arwa plan in Al-Jamoum with an area of one million, one hundred and ten thousand square meters, and an eighth site located in the Ain Shams plan in Al-Jamoum with an area of 712 thousand square meters, indicating that the Ministry of Housing will implement housing projects for citizens in these sites after completing all the legal procedures.
He added that after the issuance of the decision to stop the grants, the municipality inventoried the lands and handed them over to the Ministry of Housing, pointing out that the Holy Capital is about to witness an unprecedented development renaissance during the next five years after the completion of the ongoing projects in all fields that affect the needs of citizens and meet their requirements, especially related to roads, transportation and housing.
