In the presence of and with the participation of a group of heads of state and a select group of prominent figures from various African, Arab, and Asian countries, including Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Gabon, and Senegal, the working sessions of the Future Investment Initiative, now in its second year, kicked off yesterday under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God protect him— The conference, organized by the Public Investment Fund—the investment arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—features more than 35 panel discussions.
His Excellency Mr. Yasser Al-Rumayyan, Supervisor of the Public Investment Fund, emphasized during the opening session that investment has the power to pave the way for solving some of the most difficult challenges facing the world today, which is why the Future of Investment Initiative was established, positioning this event as a global platform aimed at identifying key future trends and exploring promising economic opportunities that will shape the future of the economy and ensure that investment plays a major role in achieving prosperity and comprehensive development.
”The initiative also represents an important opportunity for networking among business leaders and investors, making it an unmissable event for the thousands of participants arriving this week from around the world,” he said.
The Future Investment Initiative kicked off this morning with a panel discussion exploring how investment can inspire humanity with a shared vision for the future, featuring several sovereign wealth funds from Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Under the umbrella of this year’s program, “A Roadmap for the 22nd Century,” the initiative will highlight promising economic opportunities in a group of emerging economies experiencing some of the fastest growth in the world.
Several other prominent figures will participate in the discussions, including Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sergey Gorkov.
The Future Investment Initiative, currently taking place in Riyadh from October 23 to 25, offers an important opportunity for thousands of participants to attend a very rich program featuring more than 35 events, including panel discussions, forums, open discussions, and workshops.
