Housing Minister Majed Al-Hogail revealed that the transition to the second phase of white land fees comes after the results of the first phase have been fully assessed, He added that if the land covered by the first phase is developed, it will help achieve a good balance in the development of large residential units, noting that more than one project to deliver infrastructure and services has been supported through last year’s revenues from white land fees.

On the sidelines of his participation in the Financial Sector Conference, Al-Hogail explained that the first phase of the fees has not yet fully matured, emphasizing that all signs are positive, Al-Hogail noted that the current supply is considered good and that the delivery of residential units is now happening more quickly, which is the objective of the fee program.

It is worth noting that the white land fee system came into effect on the 3rd of Ramadan 1437 AH, corresponding to June 8, 2016.

The Ministry of Housing had previously defined the target geographic scope for the implementation of the first phase of the white land fee system as the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, the Dammam metropolitan area, and Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
