“National Water issues 500,000 invoices in the new billing cycle

In the first week of this month, the National Water Company issued more than 500,000 bills for the month of June smoothly to its customers, within three days of notifying them of their meter readings within the new billing cycle announced last month.

The company began in early July to notify its customers of their meter readings through text messages, and sent about 600,000 reading notifications, provided that the issuance of bills within three days of the reading, in order to improve the customer experience, without changing the due date for payment of bills on the 28th of each Gregorian month.It explained that the bills issued on 6/28/2021 are the consumption entitlements for the month of May (5), and that the bills issued during the first week of this month and continuing for some customers until the end of the month, according to the reading cycle for each customer, represent the customers“ consumption in the month of June (6).

About issuing two bills to customers within a short period of time, the company said: ”This will happen only once," the company said, noting that after the issuance of the second bill, the customer will not be required to pay before the 28th of the month, pointing out that the bill will be available for payment from the date of its arrival to the customer, who can pay it before the 28th if he wants.
The company indicated that the customer can benefit from its various service channels, such as its application on smart phones and the electronic branch, to follow the details of the meter reading, including the start and end date of the reading and the amount and period of consumption, in addition to other details of the bill.
Through this change, the company aims to notify the customer of their consumption as soon as possible to help them control it and address any spikes that may be caused by a change in water usage or leaks in the property.The company pointed out that notification messages are one of the benefits of the smart meter system services, stressing that the Water and Sewerage Services Provision Manual issued by the water regulator requires the service provider to record consumption according to the meter reading cycle, with the due date for payment of bills being the 28th day of each Gregorian month after the date of issuance of the bill.

The company aims through this change to notify the customer of his consumption as soon as possible to help him control it and address any spikes that may be caused by a change in water usage or leaks in the property.
